Hi there,

I am currently connected to TWS from IB and I noticed that there is huge discrepancy between the Bid/Ask prices displayed in FXTrader from IB and the Current Quote Window in Sierra Charts with the prices from the Current Quote Window displaying a lot wider spread. Please see attached screenshot. As a result, all of the simulated trades have been filled at prices way worse than the last closing price from the chart.

Can you explain why is that? When I trade live, would I be able to have my trades executed at the prices from FXTrader in IB?

Thanks

I am currently using the correct symbol now but my fill is still terrible, often 6-8 pips away from the price that I see on the chart. And the price displayed on the chart itself is often different from the bid or ask price being displayed on TWS. Is there anyway for me to configure the Sierra Chart to display bid or ask price on the chart so that way I can gauge more accurately the slippages.

Thanks in advance.

What is the the exact symbol of the chart?

To display the Bid and Ask price on the chart, configure the Chart Header to include those:

GBP.USD-CASH-IDEALPRO. And I actually want each candle to display bid or ask price not the chart header. Is that possible? Today's fill is better, much closer to the last price displayed on the candle. Yesterday was horrible.

Thanks

That is the correct symbol and the price data you see on the chart will match what is provided by Interactive Brokers. There should not be any differences. The price data is what is called midpoint pricing which is the average of the Bid and Ask prices.

To see the prior Bid and Ask values, use this study:
