1. Is it necessary to have TraderWorkstation (the IB software) open to access my IB account with Sierra Charts?

2. Is have configured a second client of SC to access my IB account. All seems okay. However, I know I have pending orders in by IB account. I can see those orders in Trader Workstation (the IB software that is kind of rudimentary). Although I have "Chart Trade Mode On" in SC for the relevant symbol, I do not see the pending orders appearing on the chart.

3. It appears that the realtime data from IB is lagging to IB. Is this just a delay in loading historical data or will data always lag from IB?

1. Yes. But they have a lighter weight version called the TWS Gateway.

2. Update to the latest version of Sierra Chart and follow the instructions here:

1. OK. TWS Gateway would not install. Can just run TWS
2. Updated to version 1373.
3. Datafeed from IB does not work. It is like it is in statis.

I think I figured this out. IB call the symbol "ES-201603-GLOBEX" and that differs from the chartbooks I had loaded. Had to update the symbols in each chart.
