I am using a somewhat complicated entry order and want to know if this is supported by SC, as I do not think it is. I'm using this without any problems with IB TWS through their Excel solution. I am entering 2 STPLMT OCO as entry orders, 1 sell 1 buy (with a GTD 30 mins before exchange close). If one is filled (and the other cancelled) I want attached 3 OCO stoploss orders. One normal stop of 30 ticks, one trailing stop of 40 ticks and a GTC MKT order with a specific start time some hours away, at exchange close. No target is used at all. i.e. the position will either be exited by Original Stop with 30 ticks loss (if price turns right after fill), or by the Trail Stop (if it has surpassed the original stop), or with a MKT near exchange close (if the other two orders have not triggered yet). Is this (or a subset of this) supported? Thank you. |

Refer to: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_OrderTypes.html#OCOBuyStopLimitSellStopLimit The Time in Force that you require is supported. I want attached 3 OCO stoploss orders. One normal stop of 30 ticks, one trailing stop of 40 ticks and a GTC MKT order with a specific start time some hours away, at exchange close. No target is used at all.
This is all supported except for the market order. Consider using ACSIL for that:https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_ACSILTrading.html Everything you need is built-in except for the market order which can be done by ACSIL. So we do not think you should have any trouble implementing this in Sierra Chart. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. OK maybe I'm being an idiot, but I cannot get this to work. I tried this: 1) One parent order of 2 contracts 2) Two attached OCO orders: one stop order and one trailing stop order. 3) No targets In essence, the trailing stop is at first further away than the stop and follows price. Whichever is hit first, the other will be cancelled. I cannot get this to work, I get red Nomatch when I try messing with OCO groups or cannot change them at all. Can you give me specific steps? Thank you. |

Can you provide a screenshot of the Targets tab of the Trade Window so we can see the settings.

What is the parent order type? Did you want to have 2 Stop order parents each with their own Attached Orders? On the Targets tab, each of those Stop orders needs to have a quantity of 1 if the parent is 2. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Well, I want one parent order (of two contracts), whatever its type, stp, stplmt etc. Both child attached orders should be for two contracts each. And if the stop order (of 2 contracts) is filled, then the trailing stop (of 2) should be canceled. And vice versa. Is that possible to do? |

OK we understand now what you want. We had not realized this is what you were looking for. Not sure why you want to do it this way, but this is not supported like this. There can only be one stop order with a quantity of 2. If you want to do it like you require, you would have to custom program this using ACSIL trading: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_ACSILTrading.html You need to submit the orders, and modify and cancel them as required. You can add a custom menu command using ACSIL to signal to submit the orders: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_MouseAndMenuInteractionFromACStudy.html Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. I see, well learning ACSIL is on the to-do list, but I don't see being able to accomplish anything like this for a long time to come. I want to do it this way, because the trailing stop is not enough in this system. There needs to also be a stop order closer (also this is used for position sizing), and exit if price immediately reverses after entry. |
