Symbol limit in SierraChart

Hi, I am interested in accessing the entire set of symbols in S&P500 and Russell2000 (realtime 1 min charts) to run a statistical study. Given the current 100 symbol limit I am unable to do this - is there a way to request the higher symbol limit? FYI My machine will probably able to handle the load of all the symbols if there are no software based limits. Please advise if this is possible and I would also welcome any info on other platforms to specifically access all the realtime S&P500 and Russell 2000 symbols to run a fairly simple calculation? Thank you. |

The Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed does support 500 symbols but there is an additional charge for this. It is 75 USD per month for 500 symbols. So this would be enough for the S&P 500 but not the Russell 2000. So we recommend that you look at using DTN IQ Feed instead. There are no limits within Sierra Chart for symbols. On our servers we track close to 10000 symbols in some cases. But possibly we could give you a custom quote for this. We would have to work this out with the vendor of record Barchart. Yes I would like to request a custom quote for the combined symbols in S&P 500 and Russell 2000. Please consider making it a month to month option and not a annual contract or similar commitment. We can explore than later when I figure out the value of this feed.

Also a follow-up query - I want to confirm that I should be able to use historical 1min data for entire S&P500 and Russell2000 universe and test my algorithm out correct? There are no limitations on that front - the 100 Equities limitation is just with real time data correct? Thank you.

We got Barchart to agree to a price equivalent to IQ Feed. So this will be 275 USD per month for 2500 symbols. However, there is a condition that if you decide to use this feed we need a written confirmation that this is for your own use and there is no data redistribution.
