SC Support, I have applied the Initial Balance study to a 5min candlestick chart using the following settings to capture the overnight range and corresponding IB extensions for ES. Initial Balance Type: Daily Start Time: 18:00:00 End Time: 09:29:59 Number of Days to Calculate: 10 The indicator works great on Tue, Wed, Thr, Fri both in real-time on those weekdays and historically when scrolling back through those days. However, it doesn't produce any lines on my chart on Mondays. If I change the start time to 18:00:01, it works on Mondays but begins marking the overnight high / low from the 5m bar with timestamp 18:05 from Sunday evening. Am I missing something in terms of understanding bar timestamps or the indicator? I naturally believe that it should work the same on Mondays as other weekdays given that there is a bar with timestamp 18:00:00 available on Sunday evening. Many thanks in advance for your help. |

Answer from developer: I think the issue he is seeing has to do with the number of days to calculate and how we determine where to start. He is going back 10 days - which is not 10 weekdays. If he just adds more days it will go back farther. I did not see any issue with a day of the week.

I believe to have the same issue. No Initial Balance computed on Sunday. Enclosed-by screenshot. -- W. |

SC Support, Attached please find a Chartbook as requested. I use the Initial Balance to track the High and Low price for the overnight trading session in ES that begins at 6pm EST and goes until 9:30am EST. The study works great on Tue, Wed, Thu, and Fri. However, it doesn't draw these lines for the first session of the week that begins at 6pm EST on Sunday, and this is also true on a historical basis if you scroll back through the chart. If I set the start time to 18:00:01 instead of 18:00:00, the study works as expected on Sunday nights. However, it won't include the entire session because it marks highs and lows from the next 5m bar that begins at 18:05 rather than at the true session start at 18:00. Perhaps, there is a setting I'm not aware or a certain logic to the time stamp that I need to better understand. Many thanks in advance for your help with this issue. |

This is currently working properly. You are collecting data between 14:30 and 17:00, but on Sunday, there is no data to collect during those times, and so there is no range to display until the next collection period starts on Monday at 14:30. Friday data would not carry thru to Monday. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2016-02-05 15:16:17

We will update the documentation to explain what is said in post #8. Also, we made a mistake in post #7 when we set the session times overlap. They do not.
