Hi S.C. Support,

If I move to Asia with limited speed with public broadband, I would consider those fee-based virtual Desktop (Cloud based) services so SC software and Broker's data would stay on provider's servers on the U.S. side.

What type of venders or cloud service provider Sierra Chart would recommend? We plan to run SC with IB, TD, FXCM, and CTS/T4 for now. Do you think virtual desktops of this type would have enough CPU/Memory power to support Sierra Chart on full capacity (trading system with about 20-30 charts)?

If Virtual Windows desktop on a cloud server will not have enough power to run, will remote solutions like Citrix platform be good enough to run Sierra Chart for auto trading?

Any advise on solutions that do not need to bring data feed across the ocean will be helpful. Pasted testing on a ping response on public broadband was at least 350ms or longer, which would easily time out on any data feed from U.S. to Asia.

Thank you.

Generally we would recommend a dedicated server. You can get real bargains here:

It is a Dell server with iDRAC which you can use to install your own copy of Windows. The question is, whether the particular version that it has will support mounting an external drive or drive image from your local system. That is what would be needed for the greatest ease of installing the operating system remotely.

We do not have any servers with them, but we do have some servers in the data center where they are located.

Generally we would avoid virtual servers. When you can get your own dedicated server at a low price, then that is going to be the best choice.
