I want to show the last close location (one bar/line before the current one). Either vertical line or color background (basically just one column) should do it. I don't want horizontal line. Can someone help? Thanks!

Basically, I want to time point that the last bar close to be marked vertically. For example, for a five minute chart, say current time is 11:04:00 am, I want a line to be at the line or bar that close on 10:59:59 am close. This is helpful for when I line line on close type of chart, or line style indicator to see where is the last close is. It's kind of the current study "Current Price line", but that the line is vertical, and the "price" is the last close. I tried to create a color background to do that, but it highlighted every bar. If when time move on, I can erase/cancel the old color background, and only keep the one corresponding to the last price, would be great. |

Take a look at the Time Line study.

The vertical line in the "Time Line" study is good, it's the style that I want for. However, it's for a fixed/predefined time. I need the last bar close time though.

On a 5 min chart, it's not possible to paint a background in time increments less than 5 min. With the Spreadsheet Study, it would be possible to paint the background of only the previous bar, and it would advance with each new bar. Is this what you want to do? |

Yes, that's exactly what I want, only the previous bar. Thanks!

Try this: Add the Spreadsheet Study study -Set the Chart Region to 1 -Set the Number of Rows to 10 -Give it a name in the Spreadsheet Name field -Set the Draw Style of K(SG1) to Background and the Width/Size to 2 -Click OK and OK -Put this formula in cell K3: =ROW()=4 -Minimize the spreadsheet. |

It doesn't appear the background showed up in the chart. I will check again after the market open tonight.

Sorry, take my word back. It does work! After I applied another indicator, for whatever reason, the background was highlighted! Thanks a lot!
