SC v1346, Data & Broker TransAct Currently experimenting with identical chartbooks on different installations of Sierra mainly so that one can run live and the other in Sim. Each installation is in a separate directory with no sharing of data files. An order placed on the live platform appears in the Trade Activity logs for both platforms, when they are set to All Activity & Non-Simulated. The ServiceOrder ID is identical but InternalOrder ID’s are different. When order is filled the attached child orders also appear in both platforms with different Internal Order ID’s. Cancelling an order generates a double sound alert, but there is no duplication of orders sent to TransAct (one being live, the other Sim). I have searched the Sierra Documentation and have not been able to find answers for 2 questions : 1) If both platforms are set to live trading on different symbols are there potential issues concerning duplication of orders being sent? 2) Is it necessary to have sc.ReceiveNotificationsForChangesToOrdersPositionsForAnySymbol set to false when live trading? Please advise Many thanks |

1. Not sure what is meant by "live trading on different symbols" but there certainly is no problem whatsoever with duplicate orders from Sierra Chart. That would not even be possible. 2. That flag is for specialized purposes for automated trading. We are not sure why this question is being asked. We do not see it as relevant. My concern is that when a live trade is placed on one platform the acknowledgement from TransAct appears on both Sierra platforms. If the second platform is in Sim mode a new internal order is generated on that platform which appears in the Trade Activity log under the non-Simulated tab and is not listed under the Simulated tab. re 1) Looking at a different scenario where both platforms live trading but on different symbols. They will then each be assigning new internal orders for one another. re 2) The flag is mentioned only in the section covering trading a different symbol to that on the chart. I wondered if it also could be used to block the issue of a second internal order for the same Service Order ID Hopefully you have enough information to understand the situation. As I have no evidence of live orders being duplicated and you are sure this is not possible from Sierra Chart please consider the topic closed. Best Wishes for the New Year |

You do not have to be concerned about the Internal Order IDs being different.
