I'm currently using the Relative Volume Study to compare current volume to historical volume and have two questions: 1st, Is it possible to switch from historical Average volume to the historical Median volume? 2nd, Is it possible to overlay on volume bars the Median/Average volume for the previous bars with the same time period from the past x number of days. i.e. Rather than having a separate subgraph showing the %, you are showing the actual historical Median/Average Volume overlayed on the current volume. I have attached a screenshot which shows the regular volume bars and a thin yellow volume bar which is the corresponding Median volume for the past 20 days. If either of these cannot be done, please consider adding them as a feature request. Thank you, Richard |

I've looked at your link and it is not clear to me why questions about a SC study is off limits for a user of your program. I've also spoken with my broker and they advise me that they pay SC for my ability to use the charting package. Accordingly, please clarify your response and ideally answer my questions.

Refer to: Questions from an account which is not directly paid to Sierra Chart. Some Sierra Chart accounts are provided through brokers or other resellers. These are not directly paid to us. We only provide help for these accounts if the question is basic or involves a problem with basic functionality. Understand for those who do pay directly for Sierra Chart and pay a higher price, that they are entitled to receive more support. This is an advanced question which takes a significant amount of time and cost for us to answer. Whether you agree or disagree, this is the basic fact of it. This is very advanced functionality which is not available for free or for cheaply. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. This functionality has been added in the next version. A new input "Volume Average Type" allows you to set either "Average Volume" or "Median Volume". This controls whether the volume values are averaged like today, or if the median value is used. Also, two new subgraphs have been added: "Average Volume" and "Average Cumulative Volume". Both of these do not display by default, and hold the actual average values instead of the relative percentages. So to overlay the actual average volume over a volume study, you would set the current Relative Volume and Cumulative Volume Ratio subgraph draw styles to "Ignore", and then set the "Average Volume" subgraph to "Bar". |
