Hi,

I received a new CQG account from AMP and on a check of connection latency using CQG FIX Trading on Sierra Chart version 1336, they were around 274ms/285ms. I am located in Singapore and according to AMP, my account was set to use Singapore data servers.

It puzzled me that latency is still so high after connection to Singapore CQG servers so would need need to check with engineering here are the IP addresses of the CQG domains shown belongs to servers in Singapore.

The two destination hosts my PCs reaching are "fixapi.cqgtrader.com" and "api.geo.cqg.com" and they are not the list of servers in the pdf files which have the domain format "cqginsng003i.cqgnet.com". The two destination hosts are in fact from Qwest through Equinix(of same IP address range 208.48.16.x).

So right now, could someone advise what are the steps for establishing low latency using "CQG FIX Trading" service with client in Singapore.

Thanks.

You will need to contact CQG about this.

There is no way currently to change the server being used in Sierra Chart for CQG but if they have a different server for Singapore, we could add the capability to change it. We really do not see how it is possible for your account to be set to use a CQG server in Singapore and for that to actually happen.

Hi guys, my account is also set to Singapore CQG data server, is there a way to find the IP to check where I am connecting to on your latest Sierra charts?

It is in the log file when you connect SC to CQG.

I added these IPs to my C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts file to connect to Singapore server:
118.201.11.201 fixapi.cqgtrader.com
118.201.11.218 api.cqg.com

, my account is also set to Singapore CQG data server
How is this accomplished?

We have to ask CQG if there any different server addresses we can use.

This is the response from CQG:

api.cqg.com is an universal point for Web API. It’s Geo-DNS enabled and the user connected to it will be automatically redirected to the closest geographical location.

We have some FIX servers in Singapore, they are accessible under sng.cqgtrader.com
We will have to add an option to support this FIX server but for now just use the CQG Web API service instead.

Thanks @user88,

I trade HSI and have used IB for the last 15 years. They moved to Australia and as a result raised the cost of trading while reducing service. So I've switched to Amp / CQG. Other than a few second outage yesterday it is a superior service.

I trust Singapore to maintain quality of service over Sydney so I amended my Linux /etc/hosts file last night and service was excellent today.
