Hello, I was wondering if it is possible, using SC's existing indicators, to set up the ATR Bands indicator as described in Active Trader magazine, July, 2013: "Trading with ATR Bands," but Julie Dahlquist. The upper band is an MA plus the ATR, the middle line is the MA itself, and the lower line is the MA minus the ATR. I think it would be nice if several MAs were available to choose from, although in the article, Dahlquist uses an SMA. If possible, perhaps this could be included as a self-contained study if there is enough interest. Thank you, and I hope to have the chance to try this out with SC. |

You could create the band using the Study Subgraphs Add and Study Subgraphs Difference studies.

what you are describing sounds very much like keltner channels http://stockcharts.com/school/doku.php?id=chart_school:technical_indicators:keltner_channels if you only want one ATR deviation (which would be the ATR) then use 1 as the multiplier |

Lets you use any moving average as centerline with BB or Keltner(ATR).

Thank you all very much! As a new user of Sierra Chart, I'm not sure how to get custom indicators to display on a chart. What is the process? Thank you! |
