I currently have multiple instances of sc open and one as the source and the others updating according to the source, but after trying to initiate a trade on one of the so-called copies, I was informed I should connect to the data trade service. Is there something I may have missed regarding the instructions as to how to setup multiple instances?

At the current time, trading can only be done from the instance of Sierra Chart directly connected to the Trading service. The other copy/instances can only be used for charting. The ability to trade from other instances of Sierra Chart which are connected to the instance which is connected to your Trading service, is coming in about a month. sorry about the amount of posts, but I am just taking advantage of the great software. Yes, sometimes I find things after posting a message(please excuse), but the software has an immense amount of possibilities and sc has done a great job in understanding the needs of traders. I am looking forward to this functionality, because the amount of markets I trade is quite extensive and when the software starts to lack in response due to the amount of memory: which I must say starts around 800mb, then I have to limit my trading opportunities. I appreciate the info and support and can recommend the software. thx and looking forward to the opportunities!

The development of this is done but it needs more testing and the documentation also has to be completed for it. The documentation we currently have is here: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_DTCServer.php#UsingDTCServerForDataAndTradingInAnotherSCInstance It has been released in version 1372.
