When I use the Color Background on Alert Condition, why is this formula producing an error: C >= DAILYHIGH[-1] or C >= DAILYLOW[-1] |

The array operators do not work with the daily high and low values in formulas. Refer to footnote 1 here: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_StudyChartAlertsAndScanning.php#BaseGraphIdentifiers Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Thanks, and please bear with me. Why is the following throwing an error: !L = H or !(L=H) Even the example on the documentation page http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_StudyChartAlertsAndScanning.php#Operators !(1=2) causes an error. |

This does not give us an error: !(L=H) What error message do you get? Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Does not make much sense. Update Sierra Chart with Help >> Download Prerelease (New Spreadsheets) so you are running the same version we are. Regardless of this though that formula should not give an error. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Just tried on multiple machines and installations, including a friend's. Error DOES appear on all installations we had, all of which are "Old Spreadsheets" versions. With New Spreadsheets versions, including PreRelease version you recommended, the error disappears. |

OK we are not sure why this happens on Old Spreadsheets but support for Old Spreadsheets is now discontinued.

We now realize what the problem is. Old Spreadsheets are very Excel specific and compatible. The ! Not operator is not supported: http://www.excelfunctions.net/Excel-Operators.html#ComparisonOperators So the formula has to be coded differently to accomplish what you want when using Old Spreadsheets.
