Hello, I am a Sierra Chart customer and a proud one to be honest. I have two or three problems I ll try to inquire next few weeks, but to start with I have a problem with 24 hours charts of a market. The more active hours in a market are usually related to the now defunct pit session hours. For example in the WTI Crude market the more active hours are still from 9.00 NYT to 14.30 NYT. Outside these boundaries, volume diminishes in a huge way. My problem is that when I set up a 60 mins chart using both the session times and the evening session times for the WTI Crude or any other market, and save the workspace everything works as expected until I restart Sierra Charts. When I do that the evening session times are still set, but the session times are RESET to 00.00.00 up to 23.59.59. I do not want this behaviour, as for example news come out at certain times and this way hourly bars from the pit session start are more accurate in transmitting the more important information about that market. For example to have hourly bars from the start of the US Treasuries futures at 7.20 CST is a great help to see how news impact at the usual 7.30 CST. Can you help me? Or even revise this kind of behaviour in the next Sierra Charts version? Am I doing something wrong? Thank you, my best regards. |

You say that you "save the workspace". What you are referring to is a Chartbook. Are you that opening the saved Chartbook? It does not seem like you are because the session times will not change. Here is the documentation for Chartbooks: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_Chartbooks.html Also refer to this documentation here for more information about this: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_GlobalSymbolSettings.php#SettingIntradaySessionTimes Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Tim, I had a similar issue a few days ago. Just uncheck "Apply Intraday Session Times to Intraday Chart" on "Edit Global Symbol Settings" page from Chart Settings, then click "Apply Global Symbol Settings". That did the trick for me. Regards. Netgear |
