hi - currently using DTC account balance and trade order messages. Will these work when with simulated trade mode on?

If not, do you have any recommendation for an account type that is easy to register with for testing purposes. Mostly looking to test currency pair symbols.

For the record we understand you are referring to the Sierra Chart DTC Protocol Server.

The Account Balance and and Trade Order related messages, do not work with Trade Simulation Mode. That still needs to be developed.

Although Sierra Chart does not keep track of an account balance in Trade Simulation Mode. Longer-term that will be developed but it does not exist right now.

It probably would be easiest if you give us about another 2-3 weeks, to support Trade Simulation Mode for the DTC Server trading related messages.

Or you could test for now using Interactive Brokers Trader Workstation. Login with the following Username and Password:
edemo
demouser

Go to Interactivebrokers.com to download Trader Workstation.

Trade Simulation Mode is now supported for the Sierra Chart DTC Protocol Server trading related messages.

However, as we said Sierra Chart does not maintain an account balance for Trade Simulation Mode. So the Account Balance messages are not supported.

been using the trade simulation mode.

One thing I noticed is that the trades no longer appear on the chart when I have an open position.
I looked in the trade activity log and it looks like the trades are shown when I select "non-simulated" in the filter at the top. So its like SC is in trade simulation mode on one hand, but the trades are non-simulated on the other.

Can you confirm that this is all correct and that that is the intended behavior or am I missing something?

We need more details. For example, in what instance are you doing this:
I looked in the trade activity log and it looks like the trades are shown when I select "non-simulated" in the filter at the top.

The Client or the Server?

When you say "trade" we assume you are referring to a Position? And what instance do not see the Position displayed in? The Server or the Client?

In the DTC Client, it has to be in non-simulated mode for orders to be sent to a DTC Server. But the DTC Server needs to be in Trade Simulation Mode if you want trading to be simulated. So they are simulated in one instance and non-simulated in another instance.

Correct, was referring to the open position on the chart. Do not see the position on the Server.

I am using SC as Server and I am looking at the charts on SC the Server.

Correct, was referring to the open position on the chart. Do not see the position on the Server.

I am using SC as Server and I am looking at the charts on SC the Server.

We submitted a buy limit order from a DTC client to the DTC Server in Sierra Chart. Later when the price action caused it to fill, a position appeared on the chart we were monitoring it from in the DTC Server. The position was also sent over to the DTC Client.

So we do not see any problem with this. When you are looking at the chart in the Sierra Chart DTC server, make sure the Trade Account is set to the same account the order is submitted for.

Make sure you are running a current version of Sierra Chart which is now 1340.
