The Data/Trade Service Settings screen, Data File Management button, Intraday Data File Compression box, Compress Records Older Than nnn Days option defaults to 180 days. I'm concerned that somehow a mistake on my part, or a new release, will result in automatic compression of long tick files that I use for training and testing algorithms, and for simulated trading. I don't ever want those files to be compressed. This could happen, for instance, after downloading a new SC version and forgetting to change the Days parameter. I now have it set to 10000.

I suggest defaulting to no compression and adding a check box to enable/disable the feature, with the default set to Disable (no check). The check box should act as an interlock on the Manual Start button, graying it out if the box isn't checked. Even if the box is checked and the Manual Start button is (perhaps) accidentally pressed, an "Are you sure?" message should be displayed. (It may do this now, but I haven't wanted to risk trying it.) Thank you for considering this.

(Running SC v1293 NoCLR in this particular instance, other versions in other instances)

This feature does not run automatically. It must be manually started and we added a prompt to the manual start button.
