Hello, Apologies in advance for the long post, I just want to ensure I am including enough relevant information. I leave SierraChart open at all times. I'm connected to the SC Historical Data feed. In the evenings, when I get home I like to do analysis on a set of equities. These symbols are all in the 'Intraday File Update List'. The documentation states: "Sierra Chart will always download and permanently store historical Intraday chart data for a symbol when you are connected to the data feed and an Intraday chart for the symbol is open or the symbol is listed in the Global Settings >> Intraday File Update List.", so I expected that when I get home each evening, the data is updated for these symbols, however this does not seem to be happening. Even if I use one of the charts in the open chartbook and change the symbol, the update doesn't seem to trigger. As an example this morning I opened a chart and the latest intraday data was for Oct 14. The latest daily data was for Oct 16 (expected). Viewing the chart did not trigger an update of the Intra day data. Today as I was trying to troubleshoot this, I opened the Intraday File Update List to make sure that the symbol I was looking at was in the list (and it was). I then closed the Intraday File Update List window, and as soon as I did that, all of the charts in the list were queued for intraday data updates and the downloads began. It seems like the action of closing the Intraday File Update List window was the trigger? How can I ensure that the symbols in my intraday file update list actually remain up to date automatically without having to manually trigger the update each night or disconnect / reconnect from the data feed? Please advise, thank you! |

What you are looking for is not currently supported in Sierra Chart. The documentation only refers to Data and Trading services that provide streaming real-time data and not historical data. We will update the documentation and we will see about adding a feature to automatically reconnect to the data feed when the Service is set to SC Historical Data. Possibly every few hours to keep the Intraday charts up-to-date at those intervals. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Thanks support, seeing that feature added would be great. I would like to suggest to make it configurable so that the user can choose either an update interval (every x hours), or a specific time of day at which to update. |
