Hi, I understand what Renko charts are and how they set up. What I'm not quite getting is what happens when you have standard Renkos in Chart Settings set to say 4 ticks and then add enhanced Renkos to them, also with 4 tick size. So far so good. But if you then change the underlying Renko tick size to say 10, and leave the enhanced Renkos at 4, the chart display changes and becomes slower. (Like eg the difference between a 1 min and 5 min chart). The Renko chart slows down even though the brick size is still the 4 of the enhanced Renkos, and not the 10 of the underlying basic Renko. Might be having a blonde moment here but I don't quite get that. My understanding of the enhanced Renkos from the documentation is that they add high and low values to the Renko brick, but where does increasing the Renko size of the underlying affect the slowing down of the chart with enhanced Renkos added ? Thank you very much in advance !!! :-) |

To visualize: Underlying Renko Brick size set to 10, enhanced Renko at 4: http://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?l=1443707391718.png Underlying Renko Brick size set to 4, enhanced Renko at 4: http://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?l=1443707497159.png Brick size in both cases the 4 of the enhanced Renko, but with the underlying Renko at 10 the chart, while maintaining the same brick size, is still far slower ? |

What you are doing does not make sense and we will not provide any support for this. The Renko studies in Analysis >> Studies are only there for back compatibility and are no longer supported. Only use the Renko setting in Chart >> Chart Settings. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Well ok while I still don't understand why the charts paints the way it does with my settings please don't get rid of the enhanced Renkos, because I really like the way they show price with my settings. Thanks |

The Renko studies will remain because we know that some users will use them.
