Hello, a question about "Color Bar Based on Alert Condition". I understand this is usually used for "paint bar" for the main price graph. But just in case I would like to paint a study in other regions (for example volume in region 2), is there a way to do this? I don't see any documentation online. Is this even supported? Thank you |

Hello, I think I followed the instruction but somehow cannot make this work. My idea is to paint the target study (directional movement oscillator) based on output of the source study (better volume). Can you please take a look at the attached screen shot and let me know what I'm doing wrong? Thank you! Date Time Of Last Edit: 2015-10-01 00:36:51

The Better Volume study's SG3 never outputs a 1. It only outputs zeros, even when this subgraph is TRUE. You can verify this using the Window >> Tool Values Window, or by adding the Spreadsheet Study study and locating the output column for Better Volume's SG3. You'll need to discern the algo for this subgraph, then create a formula that emulates it. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2015-10-01 04:06:13

I thought =1 is equivalent of =TRUE. I wanted to paint target study when better volume SG3 (volume climax up) is true. Anyway, I tried both, but neither =1 or =true works for me. |

After reading post #4 we do not have a suggestion for this and it may not be possible to do what you want. Try coloring the study based upon the standard Volume study and see if you can do that. If so, then the general method you are following is correct. And the remaining problem has to do with the Alert Condition formula and the values of the study you are referencing. Helping with that is not within the scope of our support. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users.
