I updated to version 1298 new spreadsheets. I have been on new spreadsheets about 2 months and have done previous updates since converting with no problem. This time my spreadsheet alerts did not transfer through correctly. I tried reverting back to a previous version and that has not worked. So I tried updating to current again and now the spreadsheet alert studies are not showing on the studies page. They are still loaded on the chartbook. Help please.
Also it would be very helpful if you previous versions showed clearly which version is new or old spreadsheet. The CLR designation is not useful in my case. I needed to search to try and find which version was new or old.

On further investigation, it appears like 2 additional columns were added in the Accumulation/Distribution Flow study. This changed the column/row choices in my spreadsheet alerts. My understanding is that the New Spreadsheets were supposed to adjust for this change automatically. What is happening and how can I deal with this in the future?

While it has happened in the past with other studies, it is a rare occurrence for additional subgraphs to be added to a study. However, when it happens, all outputs to spreadsheet columns are moved to the right for it and all studies below in the Studies to Graph list.

The New Spreadsheets have the ability to avoid this, but all formula references would need to use this optional new format:

So you'll have to decide if it's easier to fix the relocated references and be vulnerable to a rare occurrence, or take the time and trouble to update all references. An additional advantage to the latter is that you no longer need to maintain the order of studies in the Studies to Graph list.

I tried reverting back to a previous version and that has not worked.
Do you mean you could not go back to a prior version or going back to a prior version did not solve the problem?

now the spreadsheet alert studies are not showing on the studies page.
This does not make sense. Do you mean the Spreadsheet studies are no longer listed in Analysis >> Studies >> Studies to Graph?

Since you are using New Spreadsheets, update all of your formulas to use this method to reference studies:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_Spreadsheets.html#ReferencesStudySubgraphColumnsSpreadsheetStudy

The CLR designation means "Old Spreadsheets"

We believe the problem is because the Volume by Price study does output 2 additional Subgraphs.

However, there is a solution to this. Open the Study Settings window for the Volume by Price study. On the Subgraphs tab set the Draw Style for Subgraphs 3 and 4 to "Ignore".

In the Spreadsheet Studies that you are using you need to set the Do Not Output Subgraphs Set to Ignore Input to Yes:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_SpreadsheetStudyInputs.html#SubgraphsIgnore

However, changing this option may cause other spreadsheet column reference problems in your formulas. So you need to check them all.

The description of the new formula is very brief and not overly clear. Is there any other documentation or explanation or examples of an old style vs. converted formula? Before I try the conversion I would like a better understanding of the process.

Old style: AA3
where the alpha is the column and the numeric is the row.
There is no way to specify the ID# and SG# because each is output to a column based on its position in the Studies to Graph list.

New Style: ID1.SG1@3
where the ID# is the study's ID in the Studies to Graph list'
and the SG# is the specific subgraph of the study,
and the @# is the row.
Now that the ID# and SG# are specified, the study's position in the Studies to Graph list (and its spreadsheet columns) becomes irrelevant.
