Hi, Is it possible in SC to select a specific date in the past and then move forward bar by bar (with a function key or mouse click) in order to test a new strategy? Thanks Manfred |

Yes. Sort of. What timeframe did you want to use for the chart bars? Most probably you would want to use the replay functionality: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_ReplayChart.html Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Thank you for the link. There are two questions left: 1. if I understand correctly, is it not possible to replay with daily bars? Is there another possibility to visualize daily charts bar by bar? 2. When I use a hourly chart and want to jump manually to the next bar (settings: 01:00:00), I want to see the complete hourly bar including the close, but not a part of the next beginning bar. Is this possible? |

It is possible to do what you want, but we need to prepare some documentation for this. Please allow us about one day to have this done.

For the time being, there is this documentation which exists already which explains how to replay daily bars: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_ReplayChart.html#ReplayingHigherTimeframeCharts But there is another section we need to add. As we began to work on documentation for this, we realize that there is a small improvement we need to make in the Chart Replay functionality. We are going to work on that in the next day or two and finish the documentation. If we need to extend your account so that you have time to test the functionality, we will do that. So just please give us another day or two on this. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_ReplayChart.html#ReplayingHigherTimeframeCharts "It is not possible to replay Historical Daily, Weekly,...." I found out: When I select a specific date (historical daily chart or higher) in the past and then press the button "arrow right", I can move forward bar by bar. That's exactly what I want. |

You can do that. Also if you have an Intraday chart where the chart bars are set to 1 or 7 days, you can use the Replay functionality and step through bar by bar by following the instructions here: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_ReplayChart.html#SteppingThroughChartBars Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Your account has been activated and/or reset. A restart is necessary if Sierra Chart is already running. Exit the Sierra Chart charting and trading software by selecting "File >> Exit". Open Sierra Chart through the icon on your desktop or through the desktop Start menu. After your Sierra Chart usage time ends, you need to pay for additional usage time through "Help >> Add Usage Credit". Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support.
