Hi, I see my alert log no longer lists alert sounds in the log. How do I get that functionality back?

Do see a line in the Alerts Log for a particular Alert condition that was triggered?

All the alerts are still there in the log (about 30-40 per minute, I wish I could filter/exclude the ones I don't care about, that just color a bar or something) but it doesn't list the audio files anymore. The audio file names used to be separated by a pipe from the name/description of the alert.

When you provide a screenshot, please attach it here. This is considered good Support Board etiquette.

What specifically is adding those Alert Lines to the log? Is it an ACSIL study.

Sorry about the Dropbox file. I've attached the same image to this post the proper way, just for the record.

It's tons of studies of all types, most very simple, like crossovers. It used to show me every sound event, then suddenly as of last week it showed none.

Update: Maybe it was a version thing, because I'm now on the latest version, 1293, on a different machine, and everything seems to be back to normal. But I still would like to be able to filter the sea of alerts. Maybe a "Show only alerts with sounds" function?

I spoke too soon -- I installed v.1295 on the machine that originally had the problem and it is not fixed. Suggestions?
Edit: Just to clarify/restate, the problem is that the Source field of the Alerts Log no longer indicates that an audio alert has been triggered. It makes no difference whether Mute All Alert Sounds is on or off.

We need to know what specifically is adding those messages to the Alerts Log.

Are you using the Simple Alert feature for studies described here?:

Please be very very specific. Otherwise, we cannot help with this.

Yes, most of them are alerts on studies, some are alerts on charts, there might be some alerts on drawings, the point is that none of them are at all complicated, none of them have changed and the problem seems to be with the log on this machine only.

Edit: The log on that machine is not listing other details of the alerts either, such as the formulas. The entries are supposed to look like this (boldface added):

Alert - Chart: M6EZ5 Renko 9-6-3 #11 | Study: CCI dot red | Formula: =CROSSFROMABOVE(ID9.SG1,ID9.SG3) is TRUE. | Last Price: 1.1323 | Bar Start Time: 2015-09-14 12:59:47 | No alert sound/email
Alert - Chart: YMZ5 [CB] Renko 6-4-2 #5 Heikin-Ashi | Study: CCI 14 | Formula: =CROSSFROMABOVE(SG1,SG3) is TRUE. | Last Price: 16274 | Bar Start Time: 2015-09-14 14:02:12 | No alert sound/email
Alert - Chart: TICK-NYSE [M] 1 Min #4 | Study: Bollinger Bands | Formula: =OR((C>SG1),(C<SG3)) is TRUE. | Last Price: 410 | Bar Start Time: 2015-09-14 14:37:00 | Alert: Andate a Europa
Alert - Chart: TICK-NYSE [M] 1 Min #4 | Formula: =OR(CROSSOVER(C,-600),CROSSOVER(C,-1000),CROSSOVER(C,600),CROSSOVER(C,1000)) is TRUE. | Last Price: 652 | Bar Start Time: 2015-09-14 14:55:00 | Alert: Minuteman

We still have not had a chance to look into this, but in general we see no reason for the issue. So there must be something that we are not fully understanding about it on your side.

Set your telephone number here so we can look at this problem remotely and get a better understanding of it:

Thanks for your reply. I ended up replacing the entire SC folder with one from another computer where the alert log was correct, and now it is showing the full details again. So it must have been a corrupt or missing file in the install on this machine ...? It would have been nice to know which specific files affect the log, but at least copying the entire 29 GB folder worked.

We see no reason why this would occur when using the built-in Simple Alerts so we cannot answer the question.

The only file that might have possibly have an effect but we would not know why, is Sierra3.CFG.
