Knew this was going to be a problem, installation went ok, transferred data files to new pc seemed ok. Booted up SC... no charts, no tabs , nothing. Files to open on start-up=blank. DTN-IQ working fine.

OK, do you see any of your Chartbooks in File >> Open Chartbook? If not, then you did not copy the files from the Data folder of one installation of Sierra Chart to the Data folder of the new installation. This is also an indication that the procedure was not followed correctly: Files to open on start-up=blank.
Carefully follow through the instructions in help topic 15 again: Http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/helpdetails15.html And make sure all of the specified files are copied if you want everything to be the same. As per your updated instructions I copied all the files from each instance of SC (3) on the old pc from the "data" folder and put them in the data folders on each instance of SC on the new pc. Each folder has about 200 mb of data,so the files are there. For some reason SC cannot access these files. I'm running ver.1282 on both computers. I just need my tab layout, charts and studies. I don't require any thing else.

OK, do you see any of your Chartbooks in File >> Open Chartbook? No there's nothing there except a sample . Wait a minute, when I open up the data folder it shows a data folder within SC's data folder. It's not open to the files like on old pc. Could that be the problem ? If so, how to make right ? |

OK so it sounds like you solved the problem with the Data folder. You just need to move the files within that additional Data folder up one level. The ToolBar settings are located in the Sierra3.CFG file in the main Sierra Chart folder. It sounds like you are referring to the MDI child window or Chartbook tabs on the bottom? If so, that is controlled through Global Settings >> General Settings >> Tabs. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Ok, thanks to you and trial and error things look ok. Couple items, On old pc the data settings have a "0" for proxy port the new one has 443. Mean anything ? When you use the chart short cut menu you get an annoying pop-up...how to disable ?

The HTTP Proxy Port is not normally used. So it can be set to 0. What "annoying pop-up"? Please provide a screenshot of this. It can be attached by following these instructions here: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=PostingInformation.php#AttachFile Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support.
