how do I redirect data to my second hard drive

my C drive is 60 gig and is almost full - I am getting alerts and today SC stopped updating data because the disk was full

I have dumped all cache and eliminated a couple of programs (this computer is used solely for trading - no email or anything else) - I do disk cleanup every day and defragment weekly

my E drive has 124 gig free but I don't know how to redirect the SC data to the E drive

Thanks

This can be done through Global Settings >> General Settings >> Data Files Folder.

You will need to move the files from the existing Data Files Folder to the new one.

Hmmm, sorry to be so obtuse, but it keeps defaulting back to the C drive. I have copied the directive (? not sure that's what you call it) and only changed the drive to E, but it seems to default back to the C drive.

My entry in the Data Files Folder: is E:SierraChart\Data\

Sounds like your storing all the symbol tick data,
Look under C:\SierraChart\Data and delete the .scid files of symbols which you don't use.
On each chart you can set a limit of days to download, I suggest you manage that.

Thanks, I made the changes suggested on data and the data files folder now has "E:\Sierra Chart\DATA\". I have unchecked the Always Use Data Folder Within Main Folder

But now the charts aren't updating, so I repeated the above for the Chart Image Folder "E:\Sierra Chart\Images\" thinking that needed to be done, too, but still no updating of the charts. I can see the price changes on the values scale and the DOM, but the charts are frozen.

Restart Sierra Chart.

If you still have a chart updating problem, refer to help topic 3:

This has been a struggle for me. Most recently my "file to open on startup" wasn't populating and I found an answer on the support board and got those files copied to the E drive. However, I still cannot get the "trade activity log" to populate any more than the current days trades. No history will populate, even the previous day. I copied more files like all the Tranact folder but no success. I now have more disk space devoted to the Sierra Chart folder on E drive than I have on the C drive, so it seems the necessary information would be there to populate my trading history.

What am I missing?

thanks

However, I still cannot get the "trade activity log" to populate any more than the current days trades.

This might possibly be due to a corrupt Trade Activity Log file.

Update Sierra Chart to the latest prerelease using Help >> Download Prerelease.

If the file is corrupt that will now automatically be detected and new file will be started.
