Timeline in the future?

There appears to be a limit to how far in the future beyond the current candle, I am able to see the timeline and/or any graphics (like Ray) that I draw into the future. Is there something wrong with the chart? Why can't I see indefinitely into the dark space of future on the timeline? It is cutting off my graphics that extend beyond the current candle at some point, as well as stops drawing dates/time on the timeline, as well. Is there a way to extend "the future" in Sierra Charts? This makes it a bit difficult to do predictions.

This is especially noticeable with seconds charts. I am only able to see about an hour into the future on some of them. But I see the same effect on every chart. At some point, the future just drops off the face of the earth and you cannot see beyond it.

This can be increased, but do not increase it recklessly because it does carry a memory cost. If you make it significantly higher there could potentially be a consequence.

The setting is Chart >> Chart Settings >> Advanced Settings >Number of Forward Columns.

The reason we mention the above is because users do not understand what happens at a low level when adjusting some settings. When using extreme settings, this can have a negative impact on Sierra Chart.

Appreciate the how to... I never understand answers like this, however... how can this possibly affect memory so much? It's a couple of letters typed on a screen... there is no data involved. Only graphics extending into a black space... I don't get how this can negatively affect my performance. If you say so? Why decrease performance for a few lines and text into the future, with no candles and no indicators printing there? Very bizarre. If it was a broker, I would say they don't want me predicting things for some reason, but since most people are wrong with their predictions, why would it matter?

We are just wanting to be sure a user does not increase it to something like 100000. If you increase it from 150, the default, to 2000 this really should not be a problem.

Every future time period column has memory allocated for chart data even though you do not see them.
