Other than for logging into Sierra Chart itself, a proxy is not supported. So you cannot connect to the market data feed over a proxy. Must be a direct connection.

I see... But in SC I can setup proxy connection parameters (proxy address an port) in initial window before login - http://www.sierrachart.com/images/LoginInstructions_MainLoginWindow.png May be it will be possible to extend it and add two new fields (proxy login and password)? If they will be filled - SC "transfer" they to the proxy during login. Autentification is one of the standart method of accessing proxies, and it wil be great if SC will support it ;) Date Time Of Last Edit: 2013-06-08 06:43:17

Sierra Chart does not support a proxy server for a market data feed connection. Only for the HTTP connections. And the market data feed does not use this type of connection. We will have to look at this later on, but will not be for a while. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Thank you for this. But if they use that software would they have to be able to change the server address for the market data feed they are connecting to, within Sierra Chart? In the case of the Sierra Chart market data feeds, this cannot be done. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. One solution would be use http tunnel and OpenVPN to transparently bypass the proxy as is explained here: http://exiledmind.net/vpn-tunnel/ Note, that this solution would require that you have access to a machine that is outside of the proxy. a low cost VPS works great. Solution here http://www.proxifier.com/index.htm In Profile / Proxy Servers - set up yours proxy server adsress, port, and(!!!) proxy type, authentification login/password, and create 2 rules: 1) Default rule: Action - Direct (all applications trnsparently pass trought proxifier 2) Rule for SierraChart: Target Hosts - Any, Target Port - Any, Action - Proxy HTTPS After this manipulations I obtain live price in SC and green status :) |

The OP needed use a proxy. Not bypass a proxy. |
