Hello, I am with Sierra Chart package 3. I use the $TICK that is available. I am wondering how and or why it differs from my other platforms? Meaning it usually shows less. Such as it would show positive 450 and the others would show 575 and visa versa. I use Transact for Data on my charts. From what I understand the $TICK is from Sierra. http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/helpdetails66.html I also have Interactive Brokers. Should I use them for internals? (A second copy of Sierra is required from what I understand). Thanks as always. |

TICK is not an exchange-generated statistic. Each data provider will have different values. Absolutely values are less important than relative up/down tick activity.

Every data provider has different methods of calculating market statistics. They are not from the exchange as has been said. We cannot explain why there are differences. Our provider has their own way of doing the calculation.
