please see attached, there are 2 volume profiles with identical start dates/times..When i look at it on a 30min chart, it shows the price levels of the Value area Low & High. When I then change the chart to a 60min, the price levels of the value areas have changed. The volume profile levels should be independent of time frames, and should not change each time you change a time frame, so can you please advise. I am using version 1261.. Thks

There is insufficient information for us to answer this question. We must get the Chartbook from you that contains one single chart containing this Volume by Price study. Attach it here following these instructions: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=PostingInformation.php#AttachFile The Chartbook must only contain one chart. And no others. This is a requirement to avoid confusion. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. As per your request please find attached 1 chartbook containing an example of what I explained earlier. As you will note the value area low/highs change when i switch between a 30min and a 60min, and these values should be independant of timeframes. Thks.

We spent a significant amount of time into looking at why the value area high and low are changing when switching between 30 minute and 60 minute bars. We could not determine the reason. However we noticed that when we set the Start date back to March 1 2015, we did not notice a change. If you find a particular tightest date range were you notice an inconsistency, and let us know that would help us narrow this down. What we have observed is if we reduce the Days to Load in the chart, then the Value Area high and low is consistent between 30 minutes and 60 minute bars. We reduced it to 120 days. But this does not make sense.

We now understand what the reason for this problem is and why reducing the number of days loaded in the chart makes a difference. It has to do with memory and processing management. We will make a change and also add a Message Log entry to indicate when the memory and processing management is activated when loading the Volume at Price data.
