Hello SIERRA, Im using a TransAct data feed and cannot get some symbols to load. I contacted Transact and was told they only provide futures data. What do I need to do in order to get intraday quotes for the major indecies of DOW Jones Industrial Avg, NASDAQ composite, S&P 500, RUSSEL 2000, and some STOCK symbols? I added these thru the FS window under indexes and get no data.

Also what symbols do I need for charts of the NYSE and S&P 500 Advance-Decline issues? I found the NISS-NYSE for the NYSE Adv-Decl and am using it- which seems fine. Then I read from the Sierra Chart Market Statistics page, "...NISS-NYSE is equivalent to the old $NSHF symbol. This is the symbol to use to get the Advance-Decline line. However, to get the true Advance-Decline line, you need to add the Advance Decline Line study to a chart of this symbol.. Would you explain this? Is what I'm using now erroneous data? Does this apply to the tick as well?

I just want to get:
Major indecie quotes.
And the advance decline issues for both the NYSE and the S&P 500.

Thanks

First you need a direct account:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_DirectAccount.html

And then you need to use the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed for these cash index symbols. Refer to this section here:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/SierraChartRealTimeFuturesStockDataFeed.php#CashIndexes

If you want you can add the Advance Decline Line study to a NISS-NYSE chart. This is up to you. We would recommend not using that study if you are not sure if that is what you need. It does not apply to other types of market statistics.

OK, I think I understand.

I do have a SIERRA direct accout, but not activated as I'm logging on thru TransAct (T/A). If I activate thru SIERRA, I need to opt out of Transact? I'm guessing I cannot get futures data thru T/A, and mkt data thru sierra at the same time?
Thanks

Yes, you do have a direct Sierra Chart account but you need to pay for usage time on it and then you can opt out of Sierra Chart provided by TransAct at that time.

When using the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed, this will work with your TransAct account. You will get the cash indexes, the futures data and also the market Statistics, all within a single copy of Sierra Chart. You can also access stock data as well. It is all integrated.

Understood. issue resolved- thanks
Last question
if NISS-NYSE = Advance -decline for the NYSE, would NISS-SP = advance-decline for the S&P 500?
Thanks

Sierra, Thanks. The Symbols all works fine.

I'm still having difficulty with finding the remaining data feeds I need for the indices. After reading several times thru the Supported Data and Trade Services pages, my conclusion is this.

Transact provides for futures data and Chart package (CP) level 5 at $20.00 / mo. I want to retain charts at level 5, and add to this real time quotes of the DOW Jones Industrial Avg, NASDAQ composite, S&P 500, RUSSEL 2000. That’s it. But to do this, I have 1 of 2 choices.

1) Done All thru sierra- I’ll have to Opt out of Transact and add the below feeds and Chart Package.

According to the data trade services section, I will need:

Chart Package 5 – $35.00, Real Time and historical data feed - $35.00, Indices Fees - $19.50 (see below) Totaling… $89.50?
S&P Indices: $3.25
Dow Jones Indices: $3.25
CBOE Indices: $3.25
NYSE Indices: $3.25
NASDAQ Indices: $3.25
Russell Indices: $3.25

Do you concur these are all needed to get real time Futures and cash indexes using SIERRA only?

If I wanted to retain TransAct for a data feed (choice 2), I would need to add from Sierra a 2nd copy for an additional $20.00, a chart package- $24-35.00 , and the cash indexes and the real time data feed mentioned in choice 1 above?

I just want to make sure I'm understanding this correctly.
Thanks

Yes this is correct. This will give you everything including supporting the futures data from TransAct.

This is not necessary.
