When Time and Sales Volume plots, a new bar is created for each new value received. When another study is applied to the Time and Sales Volume study, the resulting value is plotted as a bar according to the Chart Setting ie each (second/minute/trade/range/etc). Is there a way to apply a study to a TnS study and have a bar plotted for each value of the TnS study? |

Yes. Use the Based On setting to base a study on another study (the Time and Sales study): http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_ChartStudies.html#BasedOn Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. My post title was misleading. Say: A chart is set to 1 sec bars from Chart Settings. A Time and Sales Volume study applied to the chart may plot 4 bars [for 4 trades] during a single 1 sec bar of the main study [a new bar is created for each new value received by the TnS study] If I apply another study to the Time and Sales Volume study [using Based On] the result now plots at the same rate as the main chart, a rate of 1 bar per second. Is there a way to apply a study to a TnS study and have a bar plotted for each value of the original TnS study? |
