This is a continuation of the off-topic in this thread:
New Spreadsheets formulas sometimes cause SC to crash

Following the instructions here:
http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/helpdetails17.html#h17.3

-There are no .dll files in my \Data folder.
-There is only one chart in the chartbook and it has no applied studies.
-No other chartbooks are open.
-Clicking on Studies >> Add Custom Study causes SC to crash.
-This does not happen in the Old Spreadsheets version.

In this case, this would be the first time we have heard of this.

Therefore, exit from Sierra Chart.

Go to the folder Sierra Chart is installed to and delete the SierraChartStudies.dll file.

After that install Sierra Chart again from this page:

I followed your instructions to delete the SierraChartStudies.dll file and reinstalled it in the same folder. It still crashes when clicking on Add Custom Study. The fault name is a ntdll.dll file. See attached.

I then installed it in a new different folder, and it doesn't crash.

Something must be corrupted in the original install that a reinstall doesn't overwrite. Please advise.

At this point we do not know the reason for the problem. We are somewhat suspicious that this problem is a Windows issue but this is not clear at this point.

We recommend just using Sierra Chart in a different folder for now. Here are instructions to move the files over:

This is the first report a problem like this when there are no DLL files in the Data folder. We will have to see if there are others.

I've been an user since 2008 and this is the first time I've had to reinstall SC to clear a problem. This is a testament to the long-term stability of the software. Thank you for a great product.

We are going to add some logging to help determine the source of the problem. We will let you know when this is done and then we would like you to run a test when you can.

We are now finally ready for you to test this.

Install the latest prerelease. If you already have the prerelease version, download and install it again because we made a revision to it.

Beside the Analysis >> Studies >> Add Custom Study button there is a checkbox "Debug Log". Enable this.

Press the Add Custom Study button.

The necessary logging will be saved to a file in the Logs subfolder of the Sierra Chart folder with a filename format similar to this:
Message Log 2015-07-04 104051.log

Attach this file here and we will see what the problem is.

The basic problem is you copied Sierra Chart program DLL files into the Sierra Chart Data Files Folder.

The problem is occurring with this DLL: libeay32.dll

Remove it from the Data Files Folder and this will solve the problem. Remove any other program DLL files from that folder also.

We are going to make some changes with how DLL files are browsed through to eliminate this problem altogether.

Those files got there when I accidentally installed a previous version in the wrong folder. Sorry for the trouble it caused you.
