I am trying to create a strategy that relies on multiple timeframes for multiple charts, but I cant quite figure out how to reference multiple charts located in the same chartbook in the spreadsheet system for trading.

Example: I want the system to open a long trade if the following conditions are true: E3>B3 on a weekly-based chart, E3>B3 on a daily-based chart and E3>B3,E4>B4,E5>B5 on a intraday 1 hour-based chart. Then I want the system to open a short trade if: E3<B3 on a weekly-based chart, E3<B3 on a daily-based chart and E3<B3,E4<B4,E5<B5 on a intraday 1 hour-based chart.

Is this possible to do, and if so, how?

Add the Spreadsheet System for Trading study to each chart, and give each the same name in the Spreadsheet Name field. This will put each chart's output on its own sheet#, by default correlating to the chart#. Then reference each sheet following these instructions:

I did this, but the formula does not seem to be working as it should. Maybe it is not a correct formula for what I am trying to do?

The long-trade formula goes as follows: =AND(Sheet3!E3>Sheet3!B3,Sheet2!E3>Sheet2!B3,Sheet1!E3>Sheet1!B3,Sheet1!E4>Sheet1!B4,Sheet1!E5>Sheet1!B5)

Chart #3 is a weekly chart, Chart #2 is a daily chart, and Chart #1 is a 1 hour chart. All the charts have the Spreadsheet for Trading study added, with the same name in the Name Field.

For what you want to do, use this procedure instead:

You will need to overlay those charts on to the destination chart containing the trading system by using the Study/Price Overlay study:
