I am loading end-of-day data into charts from dly text files in my local folder. I do not wish to download ANY data from internet data sources. I am receiving this message as if Sierra Chart thinks I want to download data from the internet rather than simply reading my local text files. How can I bypass this check so I can continue to work with my local text files? |

Thanks for your quick reply. When I select the IQ Feed service, I get the following error messages in the log: ************** START MESSAGE LOG ************************** IQ Feed: Failed to look up the port number for the Admin connection, using default port. | 2015-05-04 22:32:17 * IQFeed | Connecting to Admin port 9300 | 2015-05-04 22:32:17 Starting DTN IQ Feed interface software. | 2015-05-04 22:32:17 Error starting IQ Feed interface software. Error code: 2 | 2015-05-04 22:32:17 * Socket (14) | Error received in OnConnect while connecting. Windows error code 10061: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it. | 2015-05-04 22:32:18 Socket (14) | Shutdown and closed. | 2015-05-04 22:32:18 *************** END MESSAGE LOG **************************** I don't really need to connect to ANY data service as all my data is in local text files which I create myself. Is there a data source option that is equivalent to "local files" and avoids this problem altogether? Date Time Of Last Edit: 2015-05-05 05:38:10

Not sure why a connection is occurring to IQ Feed as long as the data files you are opening have data. In any case we will add a new "No Service" service which you can use. Thank you for adding a "No Service" service. As I am a new user, I'm not clear on how this enhancement will appear. Are you going to add it to the next version of the software that I need to lookout for?

Thank you very much for adding the "No Service [data]" option in the Data Service settings. This is an appropriate setting when using local text files. However, as I scroll through charts which are reading from my text files, I see the distracting "Download Failed" message flash in red on the charts when they initialize. This message should not be appearing since I am not attempting a download from any internet data service. Can this be fixed in a future release? |
