I use TD Ameritrade for stock data, all stocks provide their price and volume data on the quoteboard and chart. The Nasdaq 100 index ($NDX.X), TD Ameritrade symbol, provides price data on a chart, but no volume, historical or intraday. On the quoteboard it provides the price and volume data pretty accurately, this has been verified by summing the volume for each Nasdaq 100 stock. For Market Averages TD Ameritrade provides individual symbols for Market Stats, like volume, but this volume is not even close to the volume that is on the quoteboard. To avoid having to sum 100 charts to get the right volume and seeing that the right volume is on the quotebard, accumulating as the day progresses. Is there a way to grab data from the quoteboard and add it to a chart or a spreadsheet, that is on a chart? |

We will look into adding support for Intraday volume for TD Ameritrade Index symbols. If this is possible, this will be out in the next release.

SC Support, Thanks for trying to get the Index symbol data to work on charts, but it doesn't work, using version 1230 (old spreadsheets). Now, all the realtime stock volume and the QQQ volume are not updating properly, but the price is updating properly. I have to keep on "delete and download data" manually to get the proper volume. Kindly fix this realtime stock and QQQ volume issue, like it was before version 1230 and forget about Index symbol data that I requested in Post #1. |

From some quick testing we have done now, the volume data with the $NDX.X symbol does not look reliable so this looks like the source of the problem. We are not sure why the stock volume would be incorrect. Anyway, we will remove the change that has been made. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. I rolled back to version 1224, then I updated to version 1232 (old spreadsheets) and I am still not receiving live volume on my stock and QQQ charts. I don't get it, price updates, volume doesn't. Suggestions please.

We see what the problem is. TD Ameritrade does not provide volume data with the time and sales data. We had not realized this and another change we made prevented the calculation of the volume. Thanks for the quick response. I assume you can correct this problem, when you have the time.
