Hi, I have started using more Gann in my trading and I need to be able to leave spaces for weekends to have accurate time counts for time by degrees, squares and Gann angles on the daily charts. The trading day approach does not produce accurate results - I have tried. Also, the Gann angles are not accurate on the trading day charts. I even tried compensating (e.g. by using 7/5 or 1.4 points per day instead of 1 point per day) with trading days but the angles are still wrong. Needless to say, the natural time counts are also incorrect on the trading day charts. I have tried changing the chart settings to include empty columns and weekend columns but this is still not accurate. Although I enter and exit based on intraday, I really need this feature on the daily chart to more easily anticipate the more major turns. If this could be addressed in an update, I would be most appreciative. With thanks |

To understand how angles work on a price graph, refer to this section here: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_Tools.html#Angle So you need even weekend days displayed in a chart? thank you for the link but the lines are not accurate to natural time. I am increasingly using Gann in commodities trading and for timing the larger degree moves. It is necessary to square out time and maintain daily charts. If I want a one point per day (for example) scale on a commodity, then the current tool applies this to trading days but Gann methods require that this is one point per day of the week and not just trading days. I tried to compensate for this by making it 1.4 (7/5) points per day but the lines drawn are not accurate when I check with the chart calculator tool. This problem is compounded by the fact that some commodities e.g. Gold begin trading in London on what is Sunday in the US. So if the chart setting could have the option of including empty columns for saturday and Sunday, I would be most appreciative. Also, day counts and time by degrees are not accurate on trading days. I suspect that such a tweak would attract many more Gann traders to the platform - which is otherwise excellent. Thanks, Michel |

thank you. this will have the added bonus of making the Gann grid accurate on the daily chart to natural squares.

In the next release, for the time being with historical Daily charts, when using Include Columns with No Data Saturday and Sunday will be included. Later we will add an option to control this. Thank you for reminding us about this. This will be fixed in the next release. We are in the process of adding an actual option for this and it has not been completed. There will be new release out in one or two more days.
