My broker is Interactive Brokers I place my Trades on Sierr4 Charts Chart Trading DOM Each trade has an attached TRAILING STOP entered as a percentage. When the trade is filled I think I understand that the Trailing Stop is not transmitted to Interactive until it is hit and turns into a market order. The stocks I trade are high cap and high volume. On some occasions the trailing stop is triggered far below the percentage stipulated. Is the delay in the transmittal of the trade to Interactive by Sierra or is a failure of the Interactive Broker Platform failing to execute based on the percentage stipulated in the Stop setup?.Some of the "slippage" is very large so that the loss is magnified by 40 or 50 percent due to the failure to execute properly.. I specifically do not us3e STOP LIMITS. My system works perfectly with FUTURES but the Stock trading creates concern. Can I be doing something wrong Fred |

The Trailing stop is sent to Interactive Brokers. If you have a question about a fill price for a Stop order, contact Interactive Brokers. As long as you see the stop order with a status of "Open" you can be assured it is residing with Interactive Brokers. Every time Sierra Chart modifies the Stop order, the current price you see it at is what Interactive Brokers has for the stop.
