The most likely explanation is that range bars are manipulated bars and they do not represent 100% accurate price movement. You need to be aware of this. The Numbers Bars study will reveal all of the prices traded at within a particular chart column without the manipulation. We would suspect that once you remove the Numbers Bars study from the chart, the Range bars will not exceed your setting. So the simple answer is what you see is not what you expect, then do not use Range bars. This is marked as a User Discussion and we cannot comment on it further.
