A long time ago I had issues with a SC install where I had certain symbols that accumulated lots of data and would thus slow things down. When I deleted a lot of old data, things improved. I am having a similar slow response issue on a different config running from an average laptop with three monitors. Here the problem is not data files it is likely too many indicators. I have a dozen or more charts running in this Chartbook. The issue I believe is that in each of those charts there are 1-2 dozen indicators, many which are not used (in the sense that I use the "do not draw" or "ignore" convention to eliminate lines. I do this also in order to base one line on another, which may not be shown. Bottom line: to tackle the slow response, what would be hierarchical priority to clean up: un-needed indicators, too many indicators that are in the chart? When an indicator is in the chartfile, but not outputting a line, is there still cpu overhead? |

It would be best to remove a study one by one and see how that helps. If the study is on the chart and not displaying anything, then the CPU usage will be very minimal, but it depends upon the study.
