After reading this Thread (I couldn't post there), so I'm posting here... I am confused.. must I somehow run SC in Administrator mode (I have latest version) for it to not gobble up all virtual keycodes like a black-hole. It is the only program I have that is "greedy" and eats all keys when any windows has focus, so global hot keys do not work. https://www.sierrachart.com/supportboard/showthread.php?t=36484 Date Time Of Last Edit: 2014-10-19 16:31:47

This could definitely not be the case. Sierra Chart will not interfere with keyboard shortcuts used in other programs. It may possibly interfere, if one of the Sierra Chart windows is active at the time, but otherwise not. However, whether this is the case or not we do not know. Sure yes, I forgot to post that - because it was covered in original thread - that Sierra Chart swallows (does not share) a key press with the rest of Windows unlike a normal Windows application would, when SC Window is the active window. I mean for key combinations that are not used by Sierra Chart itself. But all I'm asking for is clarification of the original thread's suggestions... It was supposedly fixed "This may no longer be needed on newer Sierra Chart versions because they do run with Administrator level access. This was most likely the reason for the problem to begin with." are latest SC versions still running at Administrator level access? Or must I force my SC to run as Administrator? SOLVED... just in case anyone else has these problems and finds this thread later, I post the explanation now... ------------------------ ah... very, very interesting... all these swallowed keys like print screen or other global hotkeys that didn't work when a Sierra chart window was in focus... WORK NOW... after reboot (windows 8) this might have been the first reboot since I installed sierra charts... ALSO... the problem with dexpot (best multi desktop application for windows)... where sierra chart windows appeared on ALL desktops, no matter what.. (another user also had this problem, I was reading a thread about it somewhere) ALSO disappeared... so sierra charts really behaves much better now, like a normal windows application. So basically all my frustration with sierra charts is gone now Date Time Of Last Edit: 2014-10-22 08:31:18
