Hi SC Team, Many of my students and I are used to work with the "Old Numbers Bars". Lately the option o choose between the old and the new versions disappeared. I was hoping that you would agree to enable this option again. This will be very helpful for me and would save me a lot of headache. many yhanks Zohar liebovicht |

This has been removed many months ago. We cannot put it back. We do apologize for this. The only thing you can do is use an older version of Sierra Chart. Hi, The numbers bars old study is very important for the trading of a lot of professionals You mentioned that this study was removed many months ago???? I was just working with this study yesterday! Inorder to avoid missunderstandings please answer the following questions: 1. Is it right, that the numbers bars OLD study is no longer available with the latest update? 2. If yes, please explain the installation of an older version of SC to use the numbers bars OLD study again (and which SC version has to be used for that) 3. Why did you remove a very important and favourite study like numbers bars old???? (never change a runnings system!) 4. And please explain, why this numbers bars OLD study can not put back if your customers ask for it??? Again: The numbers bars study is very important for the trading of a lot of professionals.... I am not amused because I loose a complete trading day without the number bars study today.... Date Time Of Last Edit: 2014-10-17 06:26:37

What does Numbers Bars - Old have that the newer Numbers Bars study which which was added over 1.5 years ago, does not? From what is New page: 941 Release Date: 2013-02-01
A new version of the Numbers Bars study has been developed. Its name is Numbers Bars V2 . As we have added to the functionality of the Numbers Bars study and have added Inputs and Subgraphs, it has become somewhat confusing with configuring it and it still did not have all of the flexibility it should. The new Numbers Bars study has a much more logical organization of Inputs which lets you fully configure in an orderly way each Numbers Bar column. It no longer uses any Subgraphs for color and display control. Months ago when the Numbers Bars-Old study was removed, it still could be used if it was already added to the chart. 1. Yes. But we are not understanding why this is such a significant problem. We are kind of caught offguard here, and we can see that you are too, by the fact that it is causing a significant problem. We thought by now everyone had migrated over to the new Numbers Bars study. 2. Follow the instructions here: http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/download.php#Rollback We need to check on the version number and get back to you. 3. The study was no longer being maintained and is undocumented. Sierra Chart is a very large and sophisticated program, and it is important that we remove unnecessary code in order to make it as manageable as possible. It does not make sense to have old code which is considered a clutter. 4. It would make more sense for you to use an older version for now, and when you have the time begin to migrate to the new Numbers Bars study. There is not any logical reason for adding that study back. You can do whatever you need with the standard "Numbers Bars" study. Configuring the new study should not be difficult. We would think that would take only about 10 to 20 minutes. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Actually the study was removed several months ago. It was back in June 2014. You need to go back to version 1152 or earlier.

1. I already tried the "new" bar number study at the beginning of the year but found out, that some settings in the display were not optimal... 2. and please put the numbers bars OLD study back to the study selection list. Maybe mark it with "Not supported anymore - on your own risk" or so, profs have serveral different sophisticated future data feeds which allow them to compare and identify that the data are ok. 1. What specifically and we will solve this for you. This is no problem. 2. From our perspective, this makes no sense. It is much better for us to understand what is the limitation or problem you have with the new Numbers Bars study and for us to solve that. In the meantime I could establish my old display settings also with the "new" numbers bars study, so no more attention needs to spend on this point. However if you remove a study within Sierra Chart definitely and finally so that it can't be used anymore, I recommend to send an appropiate warning to the users before.
