1) Allow multiple Configs of Volume By Price for use by different Tool Bar Buttons. It is rather cumbersome to switch to different default settings when Drawing Volume Profile from the Tools menu. 2) Add a way to specify the width of a VBP Profile shape in pixels. I believe the graphics will be more consistent when you change the chart window size (for example, if you maximize the window). Please let me know if these can be considered. I believe these can greatly improve the usability. Thanks. |

1. This is inherently very difficult. 2. The way the graphics are managed is automatic. Almost nothing with chart graphics is Sierra Chart is defined by a fixed amount of pixels other than when drawing objects that are very thin and have a thickness of a few pixels or less. I understand what you are saying. I want to add a couple of points and let you close the issue if you see it fit. 1a) I understand how the current architecture makes it difficult to implement this. However, what do you think of supporting the ability to set the defaults for the VBP study (or any other study for that matter) via ACSIL (from another study)? 1b) Also, is it possible to support manipulating the inputs of other studies from a different ACSIL study in the future? 2) I understand this is definitely a rethinking project if you want to go this route. Compared to VBP study, almost every other study can be expressed in a more straight forward way using math and they scale pretty well with different chart window sizes. I assume the VBP study already required a lot of special handling in the past. Supporting Volume Profile widths based on the number of pixels will make the graphics look a lot more slicker. Having said that, however, I totally understand that this is a judgment call. Thanks. |

Here is a slightly different angle on Drawing Volume Profiles from the Tools menu. Say, I have 2 or three different hand drawn Volume Profiles on my chart(s), each with slightly different Input settings (Study Settings -> Settings and Inputs). Would it be possible to add an enhancement to SC so that I can basically right-click on any of the hand drawn Volume Profiles in the chart and set that as the default for all future hand drawn Volume Profiles? Please see the attachment. At the moment I can achieve this by going to the particular Volume Profile's Study Settings page and checking the "Save these settings as the default" option. I was trying to reduce the number of mouse clicks needed to draw different styles of volume profiles quickly. Thanks. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2015-01-07 04:08:20
