Post From: Copies of drawings with alert conditions don't cause the alert to trigger

Hi support, I know you have a very long to do list but I am hoping you might consider this and that it may be a very quick fix. I suppose it is a feature request but I honestly expected this behavior to be the default. I recently switched my alerts to SierraChart but after several days of not receiving any alerts I became suspicious. A bit of testing uncovered what was happening. If I attach an alert condition to a drawing, say on Chart #1, and I have a second chart, say Chart #2 which is set to display drawings from chart #1, then if I view Chart #2, and recent data causes the alert condition to be true, I would like the alert to fire even though I haven't viewed or updated Chart #1. Even though I am creating my drawings on Chart #1, it is not really ideal to use Chart #1 for scanning since each symbol change will force 6 other linked charts to update and cause a massive amount of historical data to get read from disk and loaded for no reason. I would much rather be able to have a separate chart (with no chart links and which is configured to show less historical data) show the drawings from Chart #1, that way I can use this faster chart for scanning and triggering conditions. Hope this makes sense? Thanks for your consideration. |
