The cause can be a wider ranges of prices. We will look at the Chartbook again and see what particular chart is causing the problem. There is a potential risk with the Volume by Price study on a Historical Daily chart, of freezing Sierra Chart for a period of time if there is a wide range of prices in the chart and a lot of bars. Longer-term this will be solved when daily charts load their data on a background thread. This is actually something we are working on currently.
