Just to be clear, Sierra Chart maintains a position that the policy of Exchanges charging vendor fees and exchange fees to individual users, is detrimental to the industry and to their business. This is also talked about here: http://www.fow.com/3542086/ICE-market-data-fee-regime-kicks-in-on-Friday.html We could write about this at length. We see time and time again about how this interferes with reliable market data delivery and has all kinds of side effects which are not even apparent to many of our users. Exchanges certainly have a right to earn money, but they should do so only on direct connectivity fees, and on trading fees. Vendor fees and exchange fees to end-users need to be completely abolished. Or at least vendor fees should be quite minimal and be affordable to most businesses . Therefore they should not exceed 500-1000 USD per month per exchange. And for the CME that would be 250 per sub exchange for a total of 1000. It is you the trader, and the public in general which is setting prices . For exchanges to call that proprietary information and charge these outlandish fees which have nothing to do with physical data delivery costs is an extremely unfair and absurd practice. They also have complete monopolies over what they do. In essence, they are charging you for the data that you are producing. Even though they have no cost of the data delivery to the end-users. That cost is paid by us, the brokers and other data vendors. Furthermore you may say that the 3 USD per month for CME data, is small. That does not tell the whole story. There are still very high vendor fees in the thousands of USD per month which have to be paid, and if you do not have a funded trading account, then the cost is nearly 400 USD a month per terminal. This whole thing is completely ridiculous and we waste so much time to enforce these rules. Unless more and more people are outspoken about this, nothing will change. So we are not going to hide and be quiet about this. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users.
