During rollover, I have always renamed my ES?6.scid file to the new contract to save my previous data. I was thinking, what exactly am I saving?. I assume all my chart notes that I put on the charts. With this rollover my ESm6.scid file is 7,899,644KB. So at almost 8gb's, pretty large. Does this effect the performance a lot? (slow my charts down) Or is it just at startup? Then again with Microsoft's crappy OS10 I wonder how much memory it utilizes in the temporary areas and does it slow my computer down. I also recall somewhere seeing that with large data, one should check (and I do) the CS>Advanced Settings>Split Data Records. I don't know if that applies to this question. So, bottom line does that large data in my ES file slow down charts? computation? startup? all? And if so, Could I then just rename it (since I rarily go back that far) and then just have the current or current and last contract loaded? Thx Date Time Of Last Edit: 2016-03-12 22:56:13
