Post From: Sierra Chart Historical Data Service Set Up

I currently have an account with TransAct that I use for real-time futures trading, and hence use Sierra Charts for charting through the TransAct platform.

What I would like to do now is also use Sierra Charts to chart individual stocks that are traded on the NYSE, Nasdaq and AMEX. (This service is not available with my current TransAct account.) Please note, for this purpose I only need to have historical stock data and with a 15 minute time delay. (I do not need real-time data or stock market brokerage services).

At this point I have reviewed the Sierra Chart documentation that describes the Sierra Chart Historical Data Service and have a few questions. What I understand is that I could download a second copy of Sierra Charts to my computer into a separate folder, and then run this program independent of the services provided by Transact. The cost is $24 per month and there would be no Exchange Fees. Is this correct? Note, at times I would probably have both Sierra Chart programs open at the same time.

Or, is there a better or more efficient way to access the Sierra Chart Historical Data Feed? For example, can the Sierra Chart Historical Date Feed be run directly through the TransAct Platform? I'm not sure on this point.

Please advise as well as provide any additional guidance.

Thank you, Joe Campion
