This is good to know and does clearly indicate that the difference is that a binary search is being performed by Old Spreadsheets:
If you change K3 to =F3, which makes it not ordered, the New vs Old is about the same.

We should also be able to improve performance even with an unordered search making New Spreadsheets much faster in this area compared to Old spreadsheets.
