Users who have been with us for at least several months now, know that there was a recent change to Sierra Chart where the Historical Chart symbol now matches the Intraday chart symbol in all cases. Previously Historical Charts have used the Barchart Data Service format for many of the supported Trading services. The change to use a consistent symbol was done to internally simplify a lot of areas of the program and also to make the symbols consistent for the user. Another change is that the decimal point position in the Historical Daily data files now matches that of Intraday chart data files. Unfortunately, these changes have caused 2 complications. One of which has been solved already. The remaining complication is that when a user switches between different Data or Trading services and the same historical daily data file is used with those services and those services use a different decimal point position for the prices for the symbol, this can cause invalid prices in Continuous Futures Contract Charts and requires a re-download of the data. There will be an automatic detection of data which needs to be re-downloaded and this will be done automatically. This will solve a common problem with Continuous Futures Contract charts.
