This is the relevant section of the documentation: One reason you receive a Symbol is Unknown message on the chart for a symbol is because the particular symbol is not authorized on the Data or Trading services account you are using Sierra Chart with. You will need to contact your Data or Trading service provider and tell them particular symbols you want to have authorized on your account.
This is especially true with CME (Chicago Mercantile Exchange) symbols because the CME has begun to charge exchange fees for their market data for all users, effective as of 2015-01-01. Contact OEC to make sure your account is authorized for the exchange that symbol trades on. The only other possibility is you have gone over the OEC 5 symbol limit.
