One area of functionality we plan to support is the ability to use formulas to generate a range reference using the ':' operator. Like this: [formula which returns a cell reference]:[formula which returns a cell reference] There are many details to make this work. We determined it is something that we need to do. The Old Spreadsheets work well, and the reasons given for the New Spreadsheets do not benefit this user nor many others
The only other choice is to remove spreadsheet functionality altogether. And we will not do that. You are not aware of the long-term outcome and risks with Old Spreadsheets. Long-term it is incompatible with Sierra Chart, and cannot be maintained, and are dying a slow death for these two reasons. Longer-term we will be proven correct where New Spreadsheets will benefit most users. This is not an area where we will give in on, and we are willing to lose customers over this.
